"If you're in a place where you're more powerful than the people around you, be sure to listen as much as you talk. If you're in a place where you're less powerful being sure to talk as much as you listen." ~ Gloria Steinem _____________________________________________________________ "Change begins from the bottom up - just like a tree." ~ Gloria Steinem _____________________________________________________________ "Do more of what you can uniquely do and less of many others can do." ~ Gloria Steinem _____________________________________________________________ “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… The ones who see things differently – they’re not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or villify them, but the one thing you can’t do is ignore them, because they change things… Because the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Think different.” ~ Steve Jobs _____________________________________________________________ "The expert in ANYTHING was once a beginner." ~ Helen Hayes Where are you on that path? _____________________________________________________________

"You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want." ~ Zig Ziglar Everything I've found myself pouring time, energy and passion into recently has these 3 things in common: I'm creating, I'm using skills that come easy to me so I excel in them and they offer solutions to people so they can realize their own goals. Other than parenting. LOL... Yes there was some creation there for sure, but now she's the boss and creates her own reality that I find myself being a mere player in. I'm trying, but when it comes to parenting skills I'm not quite sure I've read (meaning: audio book) the right manual yet! It's a challenge for sure and I'll keep at it. Sort of have to. You can't just quit your job when you're a parent! Hopefully in the end my hubby and I will have done well enough. :) Am I offering solutions to help her realize her goals? Every day. Sometimes she recognizes this and other times "she knows better" and I let her work through it on her own - which is what we all need sometimes. I'd say that most of the people that I help in my business(es) have done just that. They've taken a stab at working through a problem on their own and decided it was more than they could or wanted to invest their time and brain energy in. They wanted to understand what it took to do what was needed and through that effort they decided even though they could do it, they didn't want to spend their time doing it – OR in many other cases, they still don't understand it. It's just not in their wheelhouse of proficiencies. They tried. It humbled them. Now to find help... So I'll continue to create, focus on my own universe given talents and help as many people as possible in my corner of the world here in Horizon West . And if this bit of Zig wisdom holds any water, everything I want (whether I realize it or not) will come to be. What are you doing today to get what you want in life? :)
